In 1778 publiceert Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart zes sonates voor pianoforte met begeleiding van de viool (K301-K306). Een voor die tijd onbekend genre waarbij de rol van de viool veel groter is dan alleen maar die van begeleider. Dit album bevat K304 en K506 alsmede K526. Dit laatste werk schreef Mozart in 1787 tijdens de compositie van Don Giovanni. De muziek wordt uiteraard uitgevoerd op authentieke instrumenten door Alexander Melnikov en Isabelle Faust. Een perfecte opname. Dit is het eerste album van een serie met werken voor fortepiano en viool. Er zullen nog meer opnamen volgen. Prachtige muziek voor de winterse tijd van het jaar.
