The Pretty Things bestaan 50 jaar en dat wordt gevierd met een enorme box waarin het complete werk van de band is verzameld. Naast alle studio albums zijn er twee dvd’s toegevoegd met o.a. een docu, interiews, clips en liveopnames, een unieke 10 inch, een boek, een poster, een stamboom en ga zo maar door. We volgen de band vanaf de eerste stappen waar ze nog met ene Mick Jagger Little Boy Blue & The Blue Boys vormen. Als die band zich splitst in The Rolling Stones en The Pretty Things is het Verenigd Koninkrijk twee bands rijker waar de moeders hun dochters voor thuishouden. The Pretty Things groeien als band al snel en zij zijn het die met SF Sorrow de eerste rockopera maken - ruim voor The Who’s Tommy. Ook later is de kwaliteit van het gebodene hoog het album Parachute wordt in 1970 zelfs verkozen tot album van het jaar in de Rolling Stone. Daarna is het stil, maar de band wordt in 1980 heropgericht en is nog steeds actief. Essentiele Britse rhythm & blues, vuiger en ruiger dan de Stones.
