Inner Sanctum werd op 27 en 28 juli 2018 opgenomen in het Royal Opera House in Londen. Met deze adembenemende en visueel verbluffende show stond het iconische duo in 2016 voor het eerst in het Opera House naar aanleiding van het toen net verschenen album Super. Toen waren de vier avonden binnen no-time uitverkocht en ook in juli 2018 was er voor de vier shows in een mum van tijd geen kaart meer te krijgen. Ontworpen door Es Devlin en choreograaf Lynne Page werden de shows op 27 en 28 juli gefilmd door regisseur David Barnard. De DVD/Blu-ray/2CD waarbij de CD als bonus ook nog de show bevat die Pet Shop Boys op 17 september 2017 op Rock In Rio in Brazilië gaf. De Inner Sanctum productie was een muzikaal en visueel extravaganza compleet met lazers, duizelingwekkende choreografie, meeslepende visuals en een waanzinnig podiumontwerp. Dat alles in de sierlijke omgeving van het Royal Opera House. De setlist van Inner Sanctum bevat een mix van nummers van de laatste twee albums Electric en Super en tijdloze klassiekers zoals Love comes quickly, West End girls, It’s a sin, Domino dancin, Go West en Always on my mind.
