Southern Fried and ABKCO Music & Records bring ‘Satisfaction Skank’ to the world - a historic official collaboration between Fatboy Slim & The Rolling Stones.
More than 60 years ago Keith Richards wrote the iconic riff to “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” in the middle of the night on a home tape recorder while The Rolling Stones were on tour in Clearwater, Florida.
Four decades after that eureka moment, Norman Cook playfully fused his then-fresh hit “The Rockafeller Skank” - the trailblazing single from You’ve Come a Long Way Baby - with Keith Richards’ iconic “Satisfaction” guitar riff and Mick Jagger’s rebellious lyrics and vocal into something more than the sum of its parts. The “I Can’t Get No…” chant was used as a secret weapon for his early Fatboy Slim DJ sets across America., The mashup left audiences unsure whether Fatboy Slim was a band, a DJ, or something entirely new.
With UK dance music at it’s highest peak in decades, the timing couldn’t be riper for this seismic, high energy collaboration.
