Inspired by bands like The White Stripes and Led Zeppelin, Momsen and her bandmates are essentially reimagining “Celebrity Skin” ten times over—and having a blast doing it. The music shouldn’t put Paramore fans off, and Momsen’s surprisingly deep, throaty, and laconic voice is extremely effective. At its core, this is an entertaining, sassy, irreverent pop album full of cheap thrills, marked by gritty riffs à la Band of Skulls and lyrics that could just as easily have come from the mouth of a character by Bret Easton Ellis.

In 2010, Taylor Momsen and The Pretty Reckless burst onto the music scene with a powerful rock sound that would define their debut album, *Light Me Up*.
