Op 26 september 2026 wordt "Joy Division Eternal" uitgebracht, een geheel nieuwe live boxset van een van de meest invloedrijke bands aller tijden.

De set verzamelt een veelvoud aan geluidsbronnen, van publieksopnames tot soundboardtapes tot internationale radio-uitzendingen, en bevat 16 complete liveconcertopnames verdeeld over 14 cd's, plus circa 2 uur en 20 minuten livevideo op dvd, opgenomen tussen maart 1979 en mei 1980, slechts twee weken voor de tragische dood van Ian Curtis.

De geluidskwaliteit van deze bronnen varieert sterk. De meeste publieksopnames klinken precies zoals ze zijn – opgenomen door een fan in de menigte – en talloze concerten zijn breed gebootlegd. Hoewel dit onder normale omstandigheden zou kunnen resulteren in een suboptimaal commercieel aanbod, heeft Warner Music in dit geval er volledig vertrouwen in dat Joy Division-fans zullen genieten van deze officiële bootlegs en blij zullen zijn met opnames van hogere kwaliteit, vooral die nog niet eerder zijn gehoord.

In navolging van eerdere New Order Definitive Edition-uitgaven, zal Eternal worden gepresenteerd in een 12" box, met de vele discs gepresenteerd in 4 digipaks, + een softcover 12" boek met nieuwe liner notes van de Britse poet laureate en Joy Division-fan Simon Armitage, evenals fotografie van de bandfotografen Anton Corbijn en Kevin Cummins.
