VIVALDI, ANTONIO

Vivaldi schreef de twaalf concerten van L’Estro Armonico in Venetië, en ze werden uitgegeven in Amsterdam in 1711. Ze zorgden meteen voor veel roem, zijn werken werden in heel Europa gespeeld. De snelle delen van deze concerten voor viool solo, twee of vier strijkers en orkest, zijn bruisend en energiek als het mooie Venetië, de langzame middendelen zijn dromerig en soms als de schemering in de sprookjesachtige stad. Ensemble Café Zimmermann bewees haar uitmuntende spel van oude muziek al met een prachtige opname van de Brandenburgse Concerten van Bach, en speelt Vivaldi ook bruisend en energiek, zoals het hoort!

Café Zimmermann

Having attracted attention in particular for the energy and boldness in its approach to the works of J. S. Bach (Bach’s complete works for instrumental ensemble on Alpha), Café Zimmermann is now exploring the repertoire of the Red Priest, beginning with Estro Armonico, one of the most emblematic masterpieces of the Baroque repertoire.

The great clarity of the ensemble’s interpretations as much as the quality of its instruments (including a quartet by the Italian instrument maker Guadagnini), and Pablo Valetti’s fiery virtuosity are present to make us rediscover this masterful work.
