Op 10 december 1968 kwam een aantal mensen samen voor de opname van een tv-special, waaronder de leden van de Rolling Stones, Jethro Tull en Who alsook John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Eric Clapton, Taj Mahal, Mitch Mitchell en Marianne Faitfull. De Rolling Stones sloten het gebeuren af, maar waren dusdanig ontevreden over hun eigen prestaties (in vergelijking tot de Who) dat zij de uitzending tegenhielden. Deze ban is nu opgeheven, zodat eenieder kan gaan genieten van deze opmerkelijke avond. Met Mick Jagger als opperstalmeester gaat het circus van start. In de band Dirty Mac zaten John Lennon, Keith Richard, Mitch Mitchell en Eric Clapton. Hun versie van Yer Blues is aangrijpend sterk. Op het album dus ook zes Rolling Stones-nummers: Jumping Jack Flash, Parachute Woman, No Expectations, You Can't Always Get What You Want, Sympathy For The Devil en Salt Of Earth. Niet de minste! En het blijft onduidelijk waarom Mick Jagger en kornuiten zich schaamden voor dit optreden.
