The exquisite new album unleashes O'Brien's trademark melodic flair, his gift for simultaneously vivid and subtle arrangements and lyrics that clothe his hopes, fears and dreams in captivating poetry. "That Golden Time" is named after the fifth album track, which is also the album's lead single.
"I wanted the warmth of the album to be reflected in its title," explains O'Brien. "The song also touches on a theme that keeps coming up: romance versus realism. How can you have ambitious ideas about yourself and the world around you while being confronted with harsh, cold reality? I was interested in this friction."
