Na de verzamelaars Wings Greatest (1978) en Wingspan (2001) werd het weer eens tijd om Paul McCartney’s Wings bij een nieuwe generatie onder de aandacht te brengen. Na het uiteenvallen van The Beatles werd Wings McCartney’s nieuwe project en daarmee ging hij bepaald geen risico’s uit de weg. Tot ongenoegen van velen werd het Beatles repertoire in de begindagen van Wings nagenoeg volledig gemeden en werd zijn vrouw Linda de toetsenist en zangeres. Hij voedde Wings op als een pasgeboren kind, ontwikkelde een heel andere sound dan met The Beatles, bouwde de fanschare stapje voor stapje weer op en bereikte uiteindelijk een hoge sterrenstatus met Wings. Met hemzelf, zijn vrouw Linda en Danny Laine als vaste band-tandem leverde Wings iconische albums af als Wings Over America (live), Venus And Mars en, natuurlijk, Band On The Run. Met deze uitgave krijgt een nieuwe generatie de kans om dit fantastische werk opnieuw te ontdekken. Oude wijn in nieuwe zakken, dat wel, maar wel gerijpte wijn die aan kwaliteit absoluut niet heeft ingeboet. (Luc van Gaans)

A lovingly curated time capsule of imagery and music personally overseen by Paul McCartney, WINGS  includes 32 timeless international hits including 'Band on the Run', 'Live and Let Die', ‘Jet' and 'Let ‘Em In' - songs that still feature in his live shows to this day.

Presented in a die-cut hardback slipcase, the 3LP limited edition 180g vinyl collection was designed by Paul and Aubrey 'Po' Powell of Hipgnosis.

The expanded booklet also includes an introduction by Paul plus extensive album-by-album notes on the iconic artwork written by Po, with additional editorial by Pete Paphides and showcases original portraits of the band by Humphrey Ocean. 

In addition to the booklet, the 3LP set includes 2 posters and a sticker sheet.
