Muzikant/producer Steven Wilson was 12 jaar oud in 1979. Voor hem waren de jaren ’80 dan ook een muzikaal vormende periode, de basis voor zijn eigen muzikale loopbaan. Met deze compilatie op 4 cd’s of 7 LP’s wil Wilson het misverstand rechtzetten dat er na 1977 geen spannende, progressieve of ambitieuze muziek meer gemaakt werd. Talloze nummers van artiesten als XTC, Wire, David Sylvian en nog veel meer vormen het keiharde bewijs.
