COVIDS

De aanstekelijke Amsterdamse punkband The Covids presenteert deze avond hun debuutalbum “Bust to Bits”. Tijdens de eerste lockdown zijn deze branieschoppers uit verveling een band begonnen en na talloze annuleringen/verplaatsingen konden ze in de herfst van 2021 eindelijk hun eerste optreden spelen. Sindsdien is de band niet meer van de binnenlandse podia weg te slaan en hebben ze ook in Duitsland en Engeland al flink huisgehouden. Dit voorjaar staan er tours gepland door de Verenigde Staten, Mexico en Europa en worden aankomende zomer ook festivals zoals Over De Top Festival en Mañana Mañana Festival aangedaan. Kortom: The Covids gaan hard! In 2022 kwam hun eerste single uit en nu is er dan ook het debuutalbum: 11 energieke, rauwe, doch melodieuze knallers van tracks die zijn geïnspireerd door bands zoals The Buzzcocks, The Damned en The Wipers. De titeltrack van het album laat goed horen waar het om draait bij The Covids, namelijk lol proberen te maken in tijden die soms apocalyptisch aanvoelen. (tekst PARADISO AMSTERDAM)

The Amsterdam based band THE COVIDS was created out of boredom during the first lockdown and after numerous cancellations they could finally play their first live concert during the fall of 2021. Since then the band has relentlessly played the Dutch club circuit and already made their mark in the UK and Germany. This coming spring they will do their first tours in the USA, Mexico, France and Spain. Needless to say: THE COVIDS are on a roll!

After releasing their first single in 2022, they are ready to launch their debut album "BUST TO BITS" containing 11 energetic, raw and melodic tracks that are extremely contagious. The album's title track is a good example of what the band is all about lyrically, namely trying to have fun in a day and age that can sometimes feel apocalyptic. Musically THE COVIDS take inspiration from such groups as BUZZCOCKS, THE DAMNED and THE WIPERS.
