the serpent , one of the oldest and most widespread mythological symbols , has long been associated with the deepest human rituals and beliefs . across cultures , snakes have represented a dual expression of good and evil , embodying both creation and destruction , life and death . this duality resonates with the internal battles we all face—the constant swaying between right and wrong , between self-love and self-loathing . i wanted to capture this duality in my debut EP , OPHIDIAN , a reflection of the inner conflict that shapes our lives . the title comes from the word "ophidian ," meaning a reptile of the suborder “serpentes”—a perfect metaphor for the dual nature within us . like the serpent, i see myself as an ophidian , caught in the tension between good and evil , love and hate . the entire EP can be visualized as a battle fought within oneself—a journey through these conflicting emotions . the EP concludes with “verlaine”, a poem by my favourite poet federico garcía lorca. this piece reflects on the emotional intensity and inner conflict that poets—and all creators—endure , resonating deeply with the themes of this work .
