Deep Purple 'Made in Japan 50' (DLX 2025 Mix) 5CD + Blu-Ray Deluxe Box Set
Op 15 augustus 1972 betrad Deep Purple het podium in Japan voor de eerste van drie shows die zouden leiden tot een van de meest gevierde livealbums uit de rockgeschiedenis, ‘Made in Japan’. In de Deluxe Edition zitten nieuwe stereo- en Dolby ATMOS-mixen van het origineel door de veelgeprezen producer Steven Wilson. Alle drie de concerten zijn opnieuw geremixt door Richard Digby Smith, en de box bevat bovendien diverse zeldzame single edits.
,,We reisden de halve wereld over en troffen het publiek aan dat elk woord meezong. Het was magisch", herinnert Roger Glover zich in de liner notes van de collectie. Steven Wilson verwerkt de rauwe energie van de originele tapes in zijn nieuwe stereo- en Atmos-mixen. "Het is allemaal precies zoals het die avond gebeurde", zegt hij. "Het album heeft een kracht en een gevoel van overgave dat ze in de studio nooit helemaal hebben weten te vangen. Hopelijk zorgt deze nieuwe mix ervoor dat het nog meer voelt alsof je erbij bent."
