THE COVIDS BRENGEN 25 SEPTEMBER TWEEDE ALBUM UIT OP WAP SHOO WAP RECORDS

Na de Europese underground te hebben besmet met hun meedogenloze liveshows en een furieus debuutalbum in 2023, is de Amsterdamse punkband THE COVIDS terug voor ronde twee!

Op 10 oktober verschijnt hun tweede volledige album "PAY NO MIND" via Wap Shoo Wap Records: een collectie van 10 nummers vol melodische rauwheid en roekeloze vreugde, met invloeden van onder andere The Buzzcocks, The Undertones en The Wipers. Dit keer is hun songwriting scherper, zonder dat de nummers hun ruwe energie verliezen – en natuurlijk zitten de hooks er nog steeds zo hardnekkig in zoals kauwgom onder je schoen.

Een geweldig voorbeeld hiervan is de track "No Kids", die barst van de catchiness en power. Het nummer zit zo vol leven dat zelfs je oma tegen het tweede couplet begint met patches naaien op haar spijkerjack. En dit nummer is geen uitzondering – letterlijk elk nummer op dit album kan dat effect hebben.

The Covids zijn hier niet om punk opnieuw uit te vinden, maar om het bij de kraag te grijpen en terug de dansvloer op te sleuren!

De release van "Pay No Mind" wordt dit najaar gevolgd door een 7 weken durende Europese tour van de band.

THE COVIDS RELEASE SECOND ALBUM ON WAP SHOO WAP RECORDS

After infecting the European underground with their relentless live shows and a ferocious debut LP in 2023, Amsterdam punk outfit THE COVIDS are back for round two!

Releasing on Wap Shoo Wap Records on october 10th, their sophomore full length "PAY NO MIND" is a 10-track barrage of melodic grit and reckless joy drawing on influences like The Buzzcocks, The Undertones and The Wipers for example. This time their songwriting is sharper, without the songs losing their raw energy and of course still having the hooks that are stickier than the gum under your boots.

A great example of this is the anthemic track "No Kids", which is filled to the brim with catchiness and power. It's so full of life, that by the second verse even your grandma will have started sewing patches onto her denim vest. And this track is no exception, literally every song on this album can have this effect.

The Covids have already played at many Dutch festivals, including Zwarte Cross, Dauwpop and Wildeburg and they have also toured regularly in Spain, France, Germany, Belgium and the UK.

Following the release of “PAY NO MIND”, the band will embark on a 6-week tour through Europe.

The Covids aren't here to re-invent punk, they're here to grab it by the collar and drag it back onto the dance floor!
