Originally released in 1983 on the small Dutch independent label Klaver Vier, “Disko Mix” emerged during the early wave of electro disco, years ahead of its time. With futuristic synths, a steady groove and Danny Boy’s playful raps celebrating the disco sound, track captured an unique moment in Dutch club culture. While the vocal-rap version has its charm, its the instrumental that truly shines, which caught the ear of DJ’s like Young Marco, who featured it on his acclaimed Selectors 002 compilation for Dekmantel in 2017, helping introduce the track to a new international audience. Long sought-after by collectors, the original 12″ commands high prices on Discogs. Now “Disko Mix” returns for the first time as a remastered reissue, featuring three versions: vokaal, single edit and the original sought-after instrumental (remixed by Rutger “Rutti” Kroese). “Disko Mix” is available as a limited edition of 500 copies on solid green coloured vinyl with replica artwork bringing a cult classic back to the turntables.
