The Amsterdelics return with 'Angels & Rebels', and it's a deeply felt reminder of their soulful, reggae-rooted sound. The Dutch group - the clue being very much in the name - ease back in with a slow-burning lover's rock groove, where aching guitars, languid horns and a buttery vocal combine to create something both tender and bittersweet. There's real emotional weight here, bluesy and reflective without losing warmth. The Corrupted Dub flips the mood, stripping back the vocal to let shimmering late-night melodies and uplifting horn lines take centre stage. Two strong versions that showcase the band's emotional depth and musical touch, just ahead of their 10-year celebrations with a special gig at home in Amsterdam this May.
