The Grand Budapest Hotel, de nieuwe film van Wes Anderson, de regisseur van meesterwerken als The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, The Darjeeling Limited en Moonrise Kingdom, gaat over een conciërge, gespeeld door Ralph Fiennes, die beschuldigd wordt van moord en samen met een van zijn employees zijn onschuld probeert te bewijzen. De cast kent naast Fiennes andere grootheden als Abraham F Murray, Adrian Brody, Tilda Swinton, Tom Wilkinson, Jude Law, Harvey Keitel, Willem Dafoe, Edward Norton en Bill Murray.
De soundtrack voor de film werd, zoals vrijwel alle Wes Anderson films, samengesteld door Randall Poster. Op de soundtrack zijn naast de originele filmmuziek van Alexandre Desplat (die ook al met Anderson werkte voor de films Moonrise Kingdom en Fantastic Mr. Fox) ook Russische folksongs en opnamen van Osipov State Russian Folk Orchestra te horen.
