Livin’ Blues behoort tot mijn favoriete Nederlandse bands. De Haagse band met Ted Oberg, John LaGrand en Nicko Christansen in de gelederen maakt een stevig soort blues die buitengewoon solide klinkt. De eerste single Murphy McCoy wordt nog geschreven door George Kooymans en Rinus Gerritsen. Wellicht ligt hier al de basis voor de latere overstap van drummer Cesar Zuiderwijk naar de Earring. Gaandeweg wordt het stevige bluesidioom ingeruild voormeer rockgericht materiaal, overigens nog steeds even spannend. Op de eerste schijf vinden we tien singles, inclusief de Choice/Selection reclamesingle terug, terwijl op de tweede een dwarsdoorsnede van albumwerk te vinden is. Ook op deze verzamelaar hoor je hoe goed Livin’ Blues is.
