November 1989. Wanneer de Oost-Duitse regering de beperkte reis- en emigratiemogelijkheden naar het Westen opheft, beginnen Duitsers uit alle windstreken en masse met het afbreken van de Berlijnse muur die hen 28 jaar lang gescheiden hield. Twaalf maanden later grijpt Roger Waters de historische val aan om op de Potzdamer Platz zijn uit november 1979 (!) daterende magnum opus The Wall als een visueel spektakel op te voeren. En pas nu is er de DVD waarop een fraaie weerslag van deze (af en toe rammelende) megamanifestatie, die geschiedenis schrijft als het grootse concert ooit - grootste podium, grootste aantal toeschouwers en 1 miljard televisiekijkers.
