BLU-RAY VERSIE

Alles zit erin. Jazz, Soul. Porter liet de Berlin Philharmonie sprakeloos achter. Het concert ademt zoveel sfeer en ik raad iedereen tevens aan om de beelden bij het concert te bekijken op DVD/Blu-ray. De Berlin Philharmonie is een prachtige sfeervolle zaal die bovendien een heel warm geluid heeft. Maar zelfs zonder beeld komt het over. Luister deze plaat en je ziet het voor je: minimalistische podium setup, weinig spectaculaire belichting maar wel een “cosy” setting met publiek overal om het podium heen. Geweldige band, en een heerlijke setlist met veel goeie songs: Holding On, Hey Laura, 1960 What?, Take Me to all the Alley ze zijn er allemaal. De vergelijking met Gaye en Cook ligt op de loer maar dat is eigenlijk alleen maar een compliment voor de beste man. Misschien wel zijn beste concert tot nu toe?!
