Het wordt elk jaar een steeds groter fenomeen waar miljoenen muziekliefhebbers naar luisteren: de Top 2000 op Radio 2. Ook de afleveringen van het televisieprogramma Top 2000 A Go-Go, met onder meer de mini-documentaires van Leo Blokhuis, zijn enorm populair. Voor veel mensen betekent deze reis langs de grote hits van de popmuziek een nostalgische terugkeer naar hun jeugd, voor anderen is het een mooie gelegenheid om te genieten van tijdloze popklassiekers. Om te vieren dat de Top 2000 dit jaar twee decennia bestaat, wordt een mooi vormgegeven jubileumboek uitgegeven. In Twintig Jaar Top 2000 duiken de vier auteurs – Leo Blokhuis, Norbert Pek, Dirk Jan Roeleven en Arjan Vlakveld – in de verhalen achter de hits en wordt de lezer meegenomen achter de schermen van het populairste muziekprogramma van Nederland. Daarnaast verschijnt een veertien cd’s tellende boxset, onder de titel Het Beste Uit Twintig Jaar Top 2000, met een overzicht van bekende hits van de jaren vijftig tot nu. Onder de noemer Long Versions is er gelukkig ook ruimte voor de volledige versie van een aantal langere nummers, zoals Innuendo, Child In Time en It’s A Long Way There
