Voor Tears For Fears was het een bijna onmogelijke opgave om het grote commerciële succes van het album Songs From The Big Chair uit 1985 te evenaren. Toch kwam de vier jaar later verschenen opvolger The Seeds Of Love aardig in de buurt, met Sowing The Seeds Of Love, Woman In Chains (met Oleta Adams) en Advice For The Young At Heart als bekendste nummers. Geheel passend bij een deluxe heruitgave krijg je naast het reguliere album veel extra’s aangeboden: alternatieve mixen, demo’s, live-opnames, een 36 pagina’s tellend boekwerkje en als bonus een nieuwe 5.1 surround sound mix van Steven Wilson. Opmerkelijk is de demo-versie van Rhythm Of Life, een nummer dat The Seeds Of Love uiteindelijk niet heeft gehaald en een jaar later op het album Circle Of One van Oleta Adams terechtkwam. De nieuwe release van The Seeds Of Love is ook verkrijgbaar als elpee, cd of dubbel-cd. Maar de deluxe versie maakt het meeste indruk, een mooie en goed verzorgde terugblik op een album waarmee Tears For Fears in stijl afscheid nam van de jaren tachtig.
