FIORE, FRANCESCO DI

Francesco Di Fiore (Palermo 1966) is al dertig jaar als pianist actief op de concertpodia. Daarnaast valt hij op met bijzondere projecten zoals Miniature (in 2011 componeerde hij elke week een werk dat via internet is te beluisteren). Daarnaast legt Francesco Di Fiore zich toe op het componeren van eigentijdse muziek voor theater en film. Less is more, is zijn credo. Met Pianosequenza brengt Di Fiore een album met filmmuziek uit iconische films van Michael Nyman, Philip Glass en Yann Tiersen. Ook speelt hij filmmuziek van William Susman en van zichzelf. Hij benadert de stukken in hun essentie. De werken van Susman (When Medicine got it wrong) en Di Fiore (Preciesely six o’clock) passen uitstekend bij muziek uit de Piano, The Hours en Amélie. Door zijn unieke aanpak weet Francesco Di Fiore tot de essentie van de muziek en van de emotie door te dringen. Een prachtig album in een filmische setting.
